Management Assessment – Business Environment
Next Steps Research provides a unique, statistically proven and predictive tool to asses both the strength of an executive team seeking your investment dollars and the teams already managing one of your portfolio companies.
Over the past five years, we have developed, tested, and statistically proven a predictive software-driven management assessment tool that measures "entrepreneurial propensity" through seven key attributes, while accurately pinpointing where an individual will best perform in the life-cycle of an enterprise. Aggregated individual assessments provide an inside look into complex management team dynamics while highlighting potential conflicts and critical gaps. The tool has been developed from extensive academic and international consortium studies from institutions such as MIT's Sloan School of Management, Kaufmann Foundation, Babson College, and Harvard Business School. After undergoing convergent validity testing against mathematical models as well as assessments used on over two million people, this tool provides a validated and cognitive framework on enterprise leadership.
How do you know if an executive has "the right stuff" for the job? Through an intensive questionnaire, our Management Assessment rates executives and job candidates on seven key attributes: Achievement Orientation – Multitasking Capabilities – Financial Goals – Recognition – Independence and Autonomy – Risk Tolerance – Innovation.
Our analysis of the results identifies the strengths and weaknesses of an executive and makes suggestions about the job for which he or she is best suited. The Management Assessment also identifies the business environments that are the best fit for the executive. The business environment will be defined both by size (e.g., early stage start-up, mid-size growth company, Fortune 100 Company, etc.) and by job description (e.g., technological development, operations, or sales).
